2020-07-02 Jefferson Township Notice of Outside Water Usage Ban

Currently, the water plant is undergoing a major refurbishing to ensure that we continue to improve upon the quality of water services. We had anticipated that these improvements would have been completed by summer but have been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This summer is expected to be warmer than usual, and to meet normal usage demands, the District is prohibiting all outside water practices until further notice. The following examples are prohibited at this time: Conducting such activities will result in a minimum $200 fine for the first offense and $250 for each additional offense and/or disconnection of services.

*             Watering lawns, landscaping or gardens by irrigation systems or sprinklers connected to hose bibs

*             Washing vehicles

*             Hosing off driveways, sidewalks, and steps

*             Recreational water toys or temporary pools

*             Filling pools by hose bibs

                Following the restrictions above will help us meet your normal water usage demands during the summer. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

                Thank you for your consideration and understanding during the covid-19 pandemic transition. The District continues to uphold the recommended protocols to keep our staff, customers, and vendors safe.

                Sincerely,
                Jefferson Water & Sewer District
